Haleem has completed his homelessness report which particularly focuses on Peterborough City Council’s new housing strategy. With the context of rising levels of homelessness in Peterborough, the report discusses social housing challenges and the impact of homelessness on local citizens. It recommends increased funding and investment in social housing, coordination in preventative approaches to tackling homelessness, and increased support for landlords in the private sector. The report draws on evidence from Citizens Advice Peterborough, other local charity organisations and additionally discusses local progression with a key local stakeholder, the chair of one of these charities.
